At Night
Ruhanika was in her room. That's when Meera entered in her room.
"What brings you here, maasa? Shouldn't you be sleeping?" Ruhanika asked.
"That's why I'm here, to sleep." Meera said smiling and coming near bed.
"Huh?"
"Are, I'm going to sleep with you from now on until your hand gets free. Since, you are a new mom, somethings will be new for you to handle. So, I want to help you, atleast till you can handle that yourself." Said Meera smiling.
Ruhanika was speechless with this gesture of Meera. She was worried since dinner how will she handle her baby in night if she would wake up hungry or something. Because there were Abheer or nurses to help her in hospital. And she was really hesitant to ask for anyone's help here. She was overwhelmed with thier love.
"Tha....thank you so much, ma...maasa." Ruhanika said tearing up.
She is really a crybaby.
Meera just hugged her patting her head.
"Ek taraf maasa bolti ho aur doosri taraf thank you bolti ho, kaisi ho tum..." Meera said chuckling.
(You called me mother first and thank me next second, it doesn't work like this.)
When Ruhanika pulled out, Meera said wiping her tears,
"You're perfect in every aspect, but ummm there is one problem." She said narrowing her eyes at Ruhanika. Ruhanika suddenly became nervous with Meera's shift of mood.
"What is it?" Ruhanika asked hesitantly thinking she upsets Meera.
"We have to find some solution for your tears. They definitely don't stop in any situation. It's like they also have to express their opinion in the conversation." Meera said seriously.
Ruhanika relieved hearing her.
"Kuch bhi maasa! You scared me for a second." Ruhanika said chuckling.
"No, I'm serious. I bet baby must not have cry as much as you have since her birth." Ruhanika started laughing at her statement. Meera felt content seeing her laughing so freely.
"Okay, come on, now let's sleep. But before that, promise me one thing."
"What, maasa?"
"You'll wake me if you feel pain anywhere or if you need anything in midnight. Because I know, baby will let me know if she needs something unlike you, who will hide her pain." Meera said the later part joking.
"*chuckle* Yes maasa, I'll let you know."
Meera helped Ruhanika laying down and covered her properly. She checked the baby once if she is asleep or not before laying beside Ruhanika.
"Maasa, do you know, where was Abheer ji..... I mean Reyan bhaisa, Abhiraj bhaisa and Ayaan bhaisa were? They were not present for dinner today."
Meera smiled at Ruhanika's concern for Abheer.
"They were actually in farm to meet Brock and Claire. I heard Claire missed him. So, they went to spent time with them. They usually have their dinner there if they visit them in evening."
"Ohh?!" Ruhanika suddenly became sad hearing Abheer was with some girl. Meera noticed her change of mood and asked her,
"What happen? Why suddenly sad?"
"No, nothing. I just asked since he didn't come to meet m.... I mean princess, so..." Ruhanika reasoned.
Meera smiled understanding that she wanted to meet Abheer. But she noticed there was also something else beside sadness. An emotion she couldn't name.
Ruhanika Pov
Abheer ji was out with someone else. She must be nice friend. But, why am I feeling this? Suddenly sad and....?
JEALOUS!!
(Her subconscious said.)
Why would I feel jealous? No, I'm not feeling jealous.
Becoz Abheer ji was out with some one she!!
So let him be, why wouldn't he go? It's his life. He will do anything he wants.
Then why are you jealous?
No, I'm not.
I slept battling with my subconscious. My subconscious is becoming absurd day by day.
Author Pov
In midnight , baby woke up crying waking both Ruhanika and Meera. Meera took tha baby from cradle and helped Ruhanika sit and feed baby.
Once she was done,
"You sleep Ruhi beta, I will make her sleep." Seeing Ruhanika about to protest, she spoke before her,
"No. You sleep, you need rest beta."
"Ok okay maasa, but do one thing, lay her on the bed in between us, so if she wakes again you don't have to get up."
Meera nodded smiling. With that Ruhanika slept looking at Meera talking to her baby and trying to make her sleep.
Her baby is really a night baby.
Next Day
Ruhanika woke up with her baby and Meera not by her side. She abruptly sat up due to panic, hurting her shoulder.
She yelped in pain and some tears left her eyes.
When pain reduced to some extent, she stood up and hurriedly went outside to search her baby, ignoring pain in her ankle.
Pain shoot in her ankle while descending the stairs. She yelped in pain making attention of all people in living room turned to her.
She was about to fall when her foot slipped from stairs.
"RUHANIKA!!!" screamed all in living room.
But before she fell, our hero, Abheer caught her from behind.(😅)
He was also on his way to living room after his morning routine when he heard Ruhanika's scream making him anxious. He held Ruhanika before she could fall. Everybody sighed in relief seeing Abheer.
That's when Abheer noticed Ruhanika crying.
"Why are you crying Ruhi? And why were you almost running on stairs?" He asked softly seeing her crying.
"Ab...Abheer ji, ba....baby. Our princess is not in our room." She said crying holding Abheer's arm for support.
Abheer frowned hearing her and looked down at living room from stairs. He noticed baby in Ayaan's hands. Aishu, Aditi surrounding them.
He looked towards Ruhanika,
"She is here Ruhi, look Ayaan is holding her."
Ruhanika moved her head to the direction Abheer pointed and noticed baby in Ayaan's arms. Tears of relief left her eyes and she leaned in Abheer's arms.
From the day of accident, there is a kind of fear for her baby in her mind. So when she didn't see her the first thing she woke up, she panicked and abruptly ran to find her, hurting herself in the meantime.
That's when she realised her whole body was in so much pain.
Abheer noticed painful expression on her face controlling her tears.
"Ruhi, are you feeling pain? Tell me." His voice was full of concern. All rushed towards the stairs.
"Beta, are you fine?" Ruhanika couldn't answer due to pain.
"Abheer, she is looking in pain. Let's move her to her room." Vikram said.
Abheer immediately picked her in bridal style and head to her room.
He gently laid her on the bed after Aditi adjusted pillows for her to sit comfortably. Abheer sat beside her holding her hand.
"What was that Ruhanika? Doctor told you to walk carefully for some days, didn't he? And here you were running on the stairs? Mind explaining." Abheer asked with his soft yet stern voice as he was angry with Ruhanika's carelessness.
Ruhanika was in so pain and Abheer's scolding wasn't helping her but make her cry. She replied sobbing,
"I....I'm so....so sorry. But, when I didn't find m...my ba.....baby bes....beside me when I w...woke up, I panicked and r....ran to fin....find her. Please gi....give her to me." Ruhanika said pleading to hold her baby.
Ayaan immediately kept the baby in her lap when Ruhanika wasn't able to hold baby in her hands. Ruhanika's heart felt relieved when she was in her arms.
Abheer stood up,
"Who took the baby from the room without informing her?" Abheer asked with his scary low voice.
Shiver ran down of Ayaan's, Aditi's and Aishu's spines. Ayaan immediately stood up beside Aditi and Aishu and those 3 had their heads hung down.
Abheer immediately know they were the ones.
"Care explaining with whose permission you took my princess." Abheer said his voice raising with every word.
"We are so....sorry bhaisa. It's just when we ca....came to meet baby this mor....morning, she was awake and didisa was sleeping." Aishu said stuttering.
"So why you took her when you've had already met her?" Abheer questioned with his cold voice and rage in his eyes.
Well, elders are also there, but they know better to stay silent. With the thing that happened, Ruhanika would've been seriously injured. It's of no use to interfere when Abheer's in anger. Only Reyan can handle angry Abheer, but he too know this matter is related to Ruhanika, so he chose to stay out of it.
"We did....didn't wake her thinking she needs rest and took baby with us downstairs to not disturb her." Aditi said fearing Abheer's angry demeanor.
"We are sorry, bhaisa. We didn't know didisa would bo so scared not seeing baby or else we would have stayed with her in the room only. We are so sorry bhaisa, we are so sorry, Ruhi." Ayaan said guiltily and Aditi and Aishu too apologised to Ruhanika and Abheer.
When she stopped crying, Ruhanika was stunned hearing Abheer's scary, cold voice, becoz he has always been gentleman for her and never raised his voice in front of her. It's like he was a totally different person and not her Abheer ji.
"No, please don't say sorry. You all were not at fault, it's just I got afraid not seeing her." Ruhanika said immediately.
"Don't defend them Ruhanika, they are at fault. At least one of them should've stayed beside you to help when you wake up or played with baby in here only and this could've been avoided. They were too much careless in excitement of playing with a baby." Abheer spatted angrily looking at the three. They bowed thier heads feeling ashamed of their own act.
"Punish them Ruhanika or else I'm doing it." Abheer said looking at Ruhanika.
Ruhanika was baffled at his words.
Why punish them for such a small mistake. She thought.
"No...no Abheer ji, they didn't do it purposely. Please don't punish them." Ruhanika said.
"Okay, so I guess I'm going to punish them." Abheer said turning towards them. They 3 were terrified by now.
"But Abhe..." Ruhanika was cutoff by Abheer.
"I don't like anyone to interrupt me, Ruhanika!" Ruhanika shut her mouth with his stern voice and looked at those 3 with pity.
"So first Ayaan..." Ayaan straightened his back praying to Maa Kaali for some mercy of this devil in front of him.
".... the deadline of your on going project is after 3 weeks right, I want it done within 1 week."
Ayaan's face paled hearing him. He wanted to protest but didn't seem to have much courage.
"Next Aditi, how about you don't enter in your art room for 2 weeks? I heard you have to complete some paintings for your upcoming exhibition." Abheer said with sweet saracastic smile. Aditi was shocked hearing him.
"And last, Aishu how about you don't go to your last farewell party at college." Abheer said."
"But bha...." Aishu and Aditi tried to protest but,
"Does it look like there will be any negotiations? I made myself cleared already, didn't I?" Abheer said sternly and Aishu and Aditi looked down with teary eyes.
Ruhanika gasped hearing him.
Is he even serious right now? How could he lessen their deadlines and not let Aishu attend her last college function?
Ruhanika you have to do something.
"No, Abheer ji, you can't do this."
"Yes, Ruhanika you have to say something?" Abheer asked raising his brows.
"No, I mean yes. You don't give them punishments, I'll do that." She said.
"Okay go ahead." Abheer nodded crossing his hands making Ruhanika nervous.
Think Ruhanika, think.... yes!!!
"Ummm, how about we punish them to wash your cars for 1 month?" Ruhanika asked looking at Abheer the first thing that came in her mind.
Washing cars must not be that hard, right? But little did she know what she had done!
Before she heard his reply, Reyan burst out laughing so hard. She looked around only to see elders also laughing, Abheer smirking and he 3 culprits looking at her with horror as if they have seen ghost.
"We can definitely do that!!" Said Abheer smiling at her.
"But, you know Ruhi, we have almost 35 cars plus Abheer's car collection of 57 cars." Reyan said after his laughing session wiping his tears, but again ended up laughing looking at those 3's faces.
Ruhanika was terrified at this point.
What did I do? I put them in much more trouble instead of helping them.
Ruhanika thought and her eyes started their water works.
She looked at them 3 and said crying,
"Im....I'm sorry, I didn't know you have so many cars, I'm so sorry."
Aditi, Aishu and Ayaan immediately rushed to her side and Abheer too sat beside her taking baby from her lap.
"No, no, don't cry didisa, it's not a problem. Don't worry, we can do that." Aishu said.
"Yes, didisa, we can do that." Ayaan said.
"NOO, they are so many! You 3 will be so tired. Why do Abheer ji have so many cars?" Ruhanika said crying. Abheer looked at her amused hearing and chuckled. Others also started laughing at her comment.
Ruhanika stopped crying hearing them laugh and realised what blunder she had said. She got shy and wiped her face in embarrassment softly sniffing.
"I'm so sorry my dear Ruhi for having so many cars." Abheer said to her playful voice and smirk dancing on his lips. Ruhanika literally blushed hearing him and looked down at her lap. Reyan literally fell laughing.
The elders admired the scene in front of them and prayed to bhagwan ji to keep their children happy like this always.
"But seriously Abheer ji, they are too many." Ruhanika said with worry.
Before Abheer could reply, Ayaan spoke,
"No problem, didisa, we can manage. Plus it's still better than bhaisa's punishment." He whispered the last part to her. Ruhanika giggled at that.
"I heard that!"
"Oops, sorry bhaisa."
Then one by one everyone left, but before Reyan could go, Abheer said to him,
"Call her doctor home Reyan."
