Ruhanika was so baffled at whatever happened before. She kept her hand on her heart, trying to control her racing heart and ragged breaths.

Ruhanika then left to go outside. Everyone has already started serving. Abheer was on his seat too, acting like nothing happened before. While Ruhanika cursed her fate that only seat beside Abheer was empty. She silently sat there and Abheer helped her serve food as if nothing that happened before happened. She looked nervous and Abheer smiled internally at her cute face.

Ruhanika was silent throughout the dinner. Ayaan was bickering with Aishu and Aditi while others were laughing at their banter. Abheer as usual had gentle smile on his face seeing his happy family.

Almost when everyone was done with dinner, Vikram ordered servants to bring the dessert. But before it could arrive, Abhaya woke up crying loudly. She has started feeling cold due to fever and her leg was paining too much for the little one's liking.

Ruhanika and Abheer immediately got up and went towards her crib. Ruhanika took her in her arms and started rocking her. All the time Abheer stood worried for his princess crying so much. Ruhanika touched her forehead only to feel it warm. She sighed before turning towards Abheer.

"She has fever! I'll go feed her." Abheer immediately nodded and reluctantly stayed behind. Others smiled at them and continued their little celebration of dessert without the ones for whom they were celebrating.

In Ruhanika's Room

Abhaya was crying in her arms clutching her chain in her neck.
Ruhanika sat on the bed and started opening her blouse. She pulled Abhaya near her chest making Abhaya eagerly latched onto her boob. She was hungrily sucking on her breast as if it will disappear any second. Her cries died down but she was still hiccuping in between nursing. Ruhanika gently wiped tears from her face and wrapped her in the baby blanket more to keep her warm. All the while she was careful not to move her legs much. After sometime she switched sides and fed her with other boob.

She became drowsy and she almost stopped sucking just kept Ruhanika's nippple in her mouth. Once, Ruhanika was sure that she was asleep she detached her latch on her boob. She kept her clean pinky finger in her mouth when baby made sucking motion from her lips in her sleep. Ruhanika smiled at her cute baby and kissed her forehead. She sighed feeling her forhead warm.

Just then Meera and Niharika entered the room holding water bowl and soft cotton cloth. Ruhanika smiled at them and settled the baby in bed.

"Ruhi beta, keep these wet cloth on her forehead and make her wear some warm clothes. Weather is changing. It will be more likely she will catch cold, so be cautious." Meera told settling the water bowl on the night stand. Ruhanika nodded and moved in the closet room to bring baby's warm clothes. Niharika settled herself in the bed. She started wiping Abhaya's whole body with warm water as she cannot give her bath. She changed her diaper too and started wearing her the new clothes Ruhanika brought. Abheer too came in the meanwhile and stood beside the bed, while Niharika and Meera were doing other stuffs. He sighed in relief that now his princess is resting and sleeping, but his heart felt sad seeing her puffy eyes.

Ruhanika was keeping warm blankets in her cradle. On the cue, when Niharika was done, she brought Abhaya towards cradle to make her sleep un that. She swinged the cradle that make Abhaya felt more comfortable.

The whole day went like that. Abhaya was all cranky throughout the day and night. She was hardly sleeping for 2 hours then waking up feeling cold and hurt in her legs. She was crying and getting tired. Ruhanika was so sad seeing her in pain but Meera, Niharika and Gayatri Devi were there to help her and Abhaya. They made her feed, oil massaged her before giving her warm bath. She was all fussy when all that didn't make her sleep, and tired herself with crying to sleep.

Abheer was high on worry that day. He cannot see her like that. He was on his toe to help if he could. He forget all his important work that was demanding his attention, and was just wanting to let his princess be at ease. Others heart was so warmed seeing Abheer like this.

Vikram, Vikrant and Adhiraj so tried to make him understand that this happens when babies are given their vaccine shots. They were worried too seeing their grand baby like this, but they have been through this phase and know they cannot do anything to make her feel better. But, Abheer did not listen and was pacing throughout the day behind her. Even when she was sleeping, he was keeping constant gaze on her to notice whether she feel discomfort or not. Others become worried for Abheer after Abhaya, seeing him like this. He was not even drinking water to help himself.

At one point, Gayatri Devi became so furious at him and herself made him eat his dinner when Abhaya was sleeping. All the while, others were stifling their laugh seeing Abheer's nervous face in front of glaring Gayatri.

At night too he insisted in sleeping Ruhanika's room, to which Ruhanika gladly agreed. She was feeling all giddy inside with all those Abheer's actions. Unknowningly her heart was beating a little fast in his presence.

Next day, Abhaya's fever was almost gone, and she was looking fresh than she ever has. She was a little fussy, but a warm bath made her happy self return.

The following days Abheer was busy than usual. He was signing a big deal with Agnihotri's. Though Abhiraj and Ayaan were there to lessen his work load, he was busy throughout the day. He was home for very less time. He will come at or after midnight and be going to office in 6-6.30 in the morning. Ruhanika didn't get to see him in these days. She was feeling unknown emptiness within herself. Involuntarily, she was missing him, his talks, his presence and that rare smile that he only give to his family.

After that incident, Ruhanika didn't even have any proper conversation with him. Then, Abhaya was ill and now he is busy. Her whole day now goes in taking care of Abhaya. Morning walk with Vikram and Vikrant, sometimes preparing breakfast with ladies, afternoon with Aditi and Aishu, reading with Adhiraj, evening tea with elders, dinner with everyone is what her schedule is. Reyan is busy with his company too. They are launching some new products and he is in overseeing all preparations.

At such one night, Ruhanika was roaming in the balcony rocking Abhaya. After nursing, the baby was in mood to play. But, now feeling tired after her play session, she started being drowsy. So Ruhanika was roaming in balcony humming lory for her. She was fast asleep in her arms. Ruhanika liked the feeling of night breeze so she stayed for some more time there, covering Abhaya properly to not let her feel cold.

That's when she saw Abheer's car entering the premises. She became so happy with the thought to meet him after many days. She immediately went inside and kept Abhaya in her swing before moving out of the room. She saw Abheer walking upstairs and was about to enter his room. He turned towards her hearing her room's door opening.

She smiled at him happily which Abheer reciprocated with tired smile.

"Abheer ji, you're so late today. Did you have your dinner? Should I heat up the food?" She said coming towards him.

"Hey. And no I'm not hungry. I'm tired and want to sleep now. I'm so sorry I would've talked with you if I was not so sleepy." Abheer tried to not show his tiredness and he was feeling a little dizzy too. Ruhanika's smile dropped hearing him. She really wanted to spend some time with him, since she saw him after so many days.

"Oh, it's okay. We can spend some tomorrow. I....Abhaya was missing you anyways. You would want to spend some time with her." Ruhanika said giving him a small smile to assure him. She felt so low seeing Abheer's tired face.

Abheer just nodded and started to move inside his room. He was about to go but stumbled on his way and held the wall to support himself.

"ABHEER JI!? Are you okay? Do you feel dizzy?" Ruhanika immediately came to his side and held his arm firmly to not let him fall.

Abheer nodded at her,
"It's nothing. I just want to sleep."

Ruhanika shook her head saying,
"It's clearly not nothing. You are feeling dizzy. Come on I'll help you to your room." She said keeping his one hand around her shoulder and supporting his back.

Abheer was too tired to protest, so he let her take him inside. They both enter his bedroom and Ruhanika made him lay in his bed. Abheer was immediately out once his back touched the mattress. Ruhanika shook her head smiling a bit at his sleeping face. She started removing his shoes and socks. But when she touched his bare feet, she felt his feet warm. She immediately touched his forhead and gasp feeling him burning hot. He has very high fever. She cursed herself for not guessing it before when he was feeling dizzy and sleepy. She made him properly lay on the bed. Then started removing his suit blazer. It was quite a task though. He was too heavy for her. But she did it anyways. She opened his shirt buttons and took out his shirt too.

She started feeling her cheeks heat up when she saw his toned abs and the v-line going under his pants. His right arm has tattoos starting from shoulder till elbow. He looked very hot to her gaze in that moment.

My goodness, Abheer ji is so hot!! Those toned abs, bulky chest and big hands!! How will those feel around my boo.......

RUHANIKA!! WHAT ARE YOU THINKING??! AND THAT TOO ABOUT ABHEER JI?! HE IS FREAKING BURNING HOT AND INSTEAD OF HELPING HIM YOU ARE HAVING WET THOUGHTS ABIUT HIM?! GET YOURSELF TOGETHER BITCH!!

Her subconscious mocked her and she immediately realized what she was thinking. She immediately moved inside his bathroom and brought bowl filled with water and cotton clothes. She started keeping wet wipes on his forehead. She moved inside and brought one more bowl filled woth warm water. She started wiping his sweaty body and hands and feets. Then covered him with his warm blanket till his chest. She left to go to her room to bring thermometer as she didn't know where it is kept in Abheer's room.

Once she grabbed it and was about to move out of the room, her gaze fell on Abhaya's swing. She moved towards it and crouched down beside it. She gently stroked Abhaya's head,

"I'm sorry baby, I have to be near Abheer ji tonight. He is sick and  needs my attention. But don't worry I'm setting this baby monitor so if you need me and wake up I can come here to you. Hmm, keep sleeping like an angel you are!!" She whispered kissing her forhead. She adjusted her baby blanket neatly and moved out of the room taking the monitor camera.

She entered in Abheer's bedroom. She sat beside him and kept the thermometer in Abheer's mouth. When the beep sound was heard she took out the thermometer out from his mouth and gasped seeing his temperature.

"103°! Hey Maa inhe to bohot bukhar hai. I cannot even give him medicine now, since I assume he must have not eaten anything. What should I do now? Abheer ji bhi na, bilkul bhi khud ka khayal nahi rakhte. Har wakt just kaam ya fir dusro ke baare mein sochna hota hai inhe. Khud ki to kuch parva hi nahi hai, na time se khana khate hai, nahi kabhi rest karte hai. Itte bukhar mein to main beth bhi na paau, aur yeh hai ki itne der tak kaam kar rahe the. Itne kaise laparvah hai aap khud ki taraf? Kya karu main ab? Hey Maa Kaali ab tu hi sujha kuch!!" Ruhanika kept complaining to him even when he was sleeping.

(This man does not take care of himself at all. Just work or thinking of others. Doesn't even think for himself at all, not eating on time or taking rest. I wouldn't be able to sit in this much fever, and here he is working till so late. How can you be so careless towards yourself? What should I do now? Hey god, only you can guide me now!)

"Ek kaam karti hu, soup banati hu. At least wo pike toh dawa leh hi sakte hai."  Ruhanika said and moved to go to kitchen inside Abheer's chamber. But to her dismay, she didn't find any vegetables in there. She sighed and went out of the room to go downstairs to kitchen.

(I guess I should make some soup. He can take medicine after drinking it.)

She entered the main kitchen, started taking vegetables out of fridge, washing and cutting them. She prepared vegetable soup. She also took ghee roasted bread slices in case he eats something more. She took the soup bowl in tray and started going towards Abheer's room.
