Following days passed quickly. Though Abheer was tired of his work, he would make sure to spend time with Ruhanika and Abhaya at the end of the day. He would make hot chocolate for her and himself, and drink it with her rambling about her day and talking about random topics. This part of the day has become favourite of Ruhanika too...to spend time with her Abheer ji!!
They both enjoy each other's company a lot. It's definitely love from Abheer's side, but Ruhanika still doesn't understand why she feels so comfortable and safe and happy whenever Abheer is around her.
So today was the weekend, the sunday when Agnihotri's will come to Rathore Mansion, to sign the deal and celebrate a little. So Ruhanika decided to get up a little early and go to the kitchen the ladies in making food. I know it is quite early to prepare for lunch, but you all people know, how chaotic our home becomes when we are having guest over lunch. Let alone the probability of someone messing up something.(🤭)
As Abhaya was not awake Ruhanika set up her baby monitor placing her in her cradle and head downstairs.
She saw elders except Meera and Niharika in the living room and greeted them a good morning.
"Good morning everyone, where are maasa and kakisa?" She asked.
"Good morning. They are in the kitchen." Dadisa said after greeting her too.
"Okay, I'll go and help them. Do any of you need anything?" She asked.
"Yes. I would love to have a cup of tea made by you." Adhiraj said.
"Nahi!" Gayatri said before Ruhanika could even agree.
"Or kyu bhala?" Adhiraj asked.
"Are kyu kya? Aapki subah ki chai pili hai apne. Aur nahi milegi." She said replying.
(Why?
What why? You already had your morning tea. You won't get any now.)
"Are bhaagwan, adhi cup chai toh deti hai aap. Ek baar dena to puri to denana. Aur phir ek baar aur mango toh woh bhi nahi dena aapko. Achha hai yeh apka." He sassed.
(Dear, half cup tea is what I get. If you want to give one time, the least you can do is give me a full cup. And now I'm asking for more, you're denying.)
"Achha ji. Thike fir pini hai toh pile aap..."
"Arr wahh, jao Ruhi beta, hume ek cup chai banao apki haatho ki. Ab toh apki dadisa bhi maan gayi." He cut her of saying.
(Okay, drink if you want......
Nice, Ruhi, I will have a cup of tea made of your hands. Your grandma too agreed now.)
"Are are Rathore saab sun toh lijiye. Hum keh rahe the ki pini hai toh pilijiye chai pr, agar aap ab chai piyenge, toh dopaher mein jo bhi sweet banega, bhool jaiye woh khana. Apko ek katori sweet milta hai na woh bhi nahi milega." She said making his mood sour.
(Oh Mr.Rathore, hear me out first. I was saying drink if you want, but then you're not getting any sweet which will be made in afternoon.)
"Are ab yeh kya hai naya apka. Ek chai jyada pinese humara sweet kyu cancel?" He said offended, but Gayatri Devi just shrugged her shoulders.
(What? Why? Why my sweet is cancelled just coz of drinking one more cup of tea?)
Vikram, Vikrant and Ruhanika smiled at their bickering.
"Dadisa is right dadasa. Aapki sugar jyada hojayegi aise toh. Ab faisla aapka hai, chai ya mithai? Pr mera suggestion yeh hoga ki aap mithai choose kare. Main apka favourite moong dal ka halwa banane ka soch rahi thi. Baki faisla apka hai." She said teasing Adhiraj.
(Grandma is right. Your sugar level will spike up if you eat so much sweet. So now decision is yours, tea or sweet? But I will suggest you should choose sweet. I was planning on making your favourite sweet. Else decision is yours.)
"Ruhi beta aap toh aisa na kare." Adhiraj said giving her his puppy eyes, making Ruhanika giggle.
(At least you don't do this with me.)
Gayatri Devi playfully scoffed at him saying,
"Harkate toh dekhiye inki. Budhapa aa gaya hai apka Rathore Saab, ab toh baccho jaisi harkate band kijiye." Adhiraj gave her stink eye on her comment.
(Look at his childish behaviour. You are old now Mr. Rathore, start behaving mature.)
"You go Ruhi beta. He will sulk till he gets his sweet now. Ne need to bring any tea." She said last sentence glaring at Adhiraj making Vikram and Vikrant snicker at their father's pathetic face.
Adhiraj glared at them making them regain their composure.
"Jyada khikhi karne ki jaroorat nahi hai aap dono ko. Humara bhi din ayega."
(No need to show your teeths. My day will also come.)
Gayatri Devi smiled at her husband and went with Ruhanika in the kitchen to look over the preparations.
Abheer came downstairs getting ready in his casuals as he will be home today and the guests are also coming.
He saw the grumpy face of Adhiraj sitting there and looked over his babasa and kakasa asking what happened to him.
"Your dadasa got scolded by dadisa. That's why he is sulking." Vikrant, his kakasa said making Adhiraj glare at him.
"I'm not sulking."
"Whatever makes you sleep at night babasa." Vikram said teasing his father. Abheer just smiled at them and sat there reading newspaper.
That's when a maid enter with a tray and came towards Adhiraj.
"Dadisa hukum made this for you dada hukum." She said offering him the tea Gayatri made.
A small smile immediately covered his face and he took it dismissing the maid.
"Kuch bhi kaho, apki maa hai badi pyaari!!" He complemented sipping the tea, making the other three smile at him.
(Your mother is so lovely!)
After breakfast, men were in the home office checking if all papers are ready and doing some office work.
Ruhanika was in the kitchen with the ladies preparing sweet which was her duty. That's when a maid entered calling for her,
"Ruhanika baisa, hukum is calling you upstairs. He said gudiya has woken up and crying for you." She said making Ruhanika nod.
"Maasa I will go and come after feeding her." She said leaving the kitchen.
Ruhanika cams in her room to see Abheer rocking now the sniffing Abhaya.
He saw Ruhanika enter,
"See now maasa is here. Stop crying my princess."
Ruhanika came over to them and he handed Abhaya to her who immediately clutched on her saree.
"Aap yaha kaise. Aap toh office mein the na." She asked him.
"Woh hum ek file lene aye the, jo hum kal raat ko study mein bhool gaye the. Tabhi inke rone ka awaj aya toh hum yaha chale aye." He replied.
(How come you here? You were in the office na.
I came to take a file which was in my study. That's when I heard her crying and came here.)
Ruhanika nodded at him.
"Okay, you go now. I will bath her and feed her. Okay?" He nodded and moved out of the room.
"My baby was missing her maasa. You woke up so late today." She cooed sitting on the bed and started feeding her.
While feeding she noticed that Abhaya's hands felt a bit warm. She immediately checked her forehead and found it slightly burning.
"He Maa, apko to bukhar aya hai. Ab kya kare hum?" She thought slightly panicking.
(Oh god, you caught fever. What should I do now?)
She chose to completely feed her first. Once she was done, Ruhanika pulled her out and burped her. Though after getting feed, Abhaya became cranky slightly, due to fever.
"Oh ohh, bas baccha rote nahi. Ek kaam karte hai hum apki acchese jaldi massage karke garm panise nehla dete hai. Apko aram milega thodasa, hm." She talked with her and got up taking her in the bathroom.
(Shh shh, don't cry so much my baby. Mamma will qhickly give you some massage before giving you bath, hm. It will make you feel better, let's go.)
She took the neccesary things for massage before stripping Abhaya out of her clothes. She kept the oil bowl in hot water so it could get warm a little and turned on the bath tap to let it fill till she is done.
She started massaging her body gently, knowing that even a big guy can feel body ache in fever.
She then started bathing her after a quick massage, gently getting rid of the body oil. She kept it short as Abhaya could not be kept for long naked, due to her fever.
"Mere pari ko achha lag raha hai ab, hm. Dekho toh kaise smile kar rahi hai." She talked her in baby voice after seeing Abhaya smiling in the bath tub. She made baby noises as in response to her maasa.
(My princess is loving the bath, hmm. Look at that cute gummy smile.)
"Let's go now. Enough playing in water." She said scooping Abhaya in her arms and wrapping towel around her.
She came in the room taking her essentials and laid her on the bed. She immediately went to close the windows and balcony door, to make the room a little bit warmer, and came towards Abhaya after picking more warmer clothes for her.
"Now let's get my baby dressed." She quickly put on her baby lotion and diaper and made her wear her clothes. She wrapped her in more warmer blanket and made her wear the baby cap.
By the time she was done, Abhaya was all fussy that made Ruhanika hold her and rock her in her arms. She kept pacing around the room for quite some time humming which made Abhaya sleepy.
"I'm so sorry baby. It all happened becoz of me. If only I would have not gone downstairs early, I would have checked on you earlier and took care of you. I'm sorry that you are suffering alone." She whispered in sad voice that her baby is sick.
When Abhaya was almost dozed off, she went to cradle and kept more blankets in it so that she could make Abhaya sleep in it. But when she started putting her in it, Abhaya abruptly woke up making her stop her actions.
She looked at her maasa which seemed too far away from her making her lower lip wobble and the next moment the whole room was filled with loud cries.
Ruhanika immediately stood up rocking her in her arms.
"Oh oh, bas bas kuch nahi hua. Maasa yahi hai. Bas meri gudiya mat ro." She talked and started pacing around the room humming again to calm her down. But Abhaya this time looked like she did not have any intention to calm down soon.
(Ohh, no my baby, don't cry. Mamma is here. Don't cry my princess.)
"Shh, bas bas, rote nahi meri ladli. Maasa ko maaf kardo woh apko niche rakh rahi thi. Ab nahi rakhengi, aur kahi nahi jayenge hum. Bas ab rona band karo." But her no words made her calm. Sighing Ruhanika sat on the bed and opened her blouse to make her feed, hoping at least she would calm down this way.
(Don't cry my baby. Forgive mamma for keeping you down. Now she will not do it and won't go anywhere. Stop crying, hmm.)
But to her surprise, when Abhaya latched and started sucking, the room door barged open.
"What happened, why Abhaya...." Abheer's words came to stop when he saw Ruhanika sat there wide-eyed feeding Abhaya. Though nothing was seeing due to Abhaya's head, her cleavage was clearly visible to Abheer's eyes. He immediately turned his back to her making her cover herself with the pallu.
"Umm... I came hearing her cry when I came to change my clothes. I'll come later." He immediately left the room without hearing her response.
Our hukum sa seemed to have taken cold shower after what he witnessed in Ruhanika's bedroom!
Ruhanika sat there with flushed face with whatever happened just now. Her heart was pacing at full speed. She was glad that Abhaya already started feeding. Coz, 1 min earlier, and her assets would have given Abheer a good show of the day!!
Ruhanika blushed more with that thought.
Abhaya's pull on her saree broke her trance. She gently caressed her head and patted her bum to make her sleep while feeding. She looked at the wall clock and gasped.
"I've been in the room for past 2 hours. The guest must be coimg in half an hour. But, I guess I won't be able to attend the lunch. Celebrating downstairs when my baby here is suffering and sick, the thought alone seems like some crime.
Someone have said right, after birth of the child, the mother's world revolves around her child only!!" She whispered kissing Abhaya's small fist.
Once she was assured that Abhaya was asleep, she gently got up from the bed and laid her on it. She checked her temperature and found it increased from before. But, she was at least relieved that now her baby was asleep, resting a little.
When Ruhanika came from keeping her after-bath things in bathroom, she heard the knock. She went and opened the door to see Abheer standing there.

She became a little awkward due to earlier situation and moved inside followed by Abheer.
He saw Abhaya sleeping on the bed, and a breath of relief left his mouth as he cannot bear his princess cry and the way she was crying so loudly, it was very heart breaking for Abheer.
"What happened to her? Why was she crying so much?" Abheer asked whispering, totally ignoring the earlier situation, to not make it awkward for Ruhanika.
"Abhaya has got fever!" Her one sentence was enough to make him anxious.
"What?! And you didn't even tell me? Is she okay now? You should have told me earlier. You are in here for almost 2 hours Ruhi. The doctor could have been already here by now, if you had told me. Let me call the doctor now. We should get her checked once." He said all panicking and going towards Abhaya checking her temperature, which was quite high.
"She is literally burning, Ruhi! Let's go to the hospital. We should not wait for doctor." He said and was about to lift Abhaya but stopped by Ruhanika.
"Abheer ji!!" She hissed making him stop and sat beside Abhaya.
"Don't! She just slept now and you're talking beside her. Keep quiet or else you will wake her up, and no need to call the doctor or go to the hospital. It must be just the viral fever due to weather. You go downstairs. The guest must be arriving. I'll take care of her." She said pulling him out of the bed and taking towards the door.
"But how can I leave my princess alone?! I'll not be attending any guest downstairs when my child is sick in here!!" His concern filled eyes looking over Abhaya.
But just beside him, Ruhanika froze hearing his words.
His child!? What is he talking about? What does that even suppose to mean!?
She stood there gasping in her own thoughts looking at Abheer with wide eyes.
Abheer looked to see her looking at him wide-eyed.
"What!? I'm serious. Let me go and cancel the plan!" He said taking out his mobile from the pocket.
Ruhanika immediately snatched it from his hands and hissing at him,
"Abheer ji!! Please don't do any such thing. They must be on their way to Rathore Mansion. Look at the clock, it's already 12.45. It will be disrespectful to them to cancel the plan all of sudden. And I already told you, I'll be with her na. Why are you so hyperventilating!? Take a deep breath and calm down!" She said making him took a breath silently, which he was unknowingly holding.
"But, Ruhi we need to see her to the doctor." He said softly looking at Abhaya.
"I'm telling you there is no need as of now. You just focus on the guest and signing for now, please Abheer ji. Remember you were waiting for this day since last month. Just get over with it today. It will not look so professional of you to delay it again and again. And if you think and want, we will call the doctor in evening, if her fever still doesn't get settle." She said making him sigh. He knows today is important day for their deal.
But his princess is above everything!!
He cannot not be concerned when she is sick.
"But..."
"No buts Abheer ji. Let's go." She said pushing him out of the door. She is going to take the bowl to keep cold strips on her.
They both came downstairs to see all were sitting in the room waiting for Agnihotri's. (Reyan too)
"Are Ruhi beta, tayar nahi hui ab tak? Guest aate hi honge, or Abhaya kaha hai? Fir se so rahi hai kya? Pr yeh to uska nap time nahi hai?" Meera asked seeing them coming downstairs, gaining others' attention.
(Why are you not ready yet Ruhi? Guest will be here any moment now. And where is Abhaya? Is she again sleeping? But this is not her nap time?)
She sighed talking,
"Woh actually. Abhaya ko thoda fever hai." That made all men got up from their seat yelling "what?!"
"Why didn't you tell this before? Did you call the doctor? How is she now?" Gayatri Devi asked concerned.
But before she could answer, ladies saw all the men except Abheer moving to go upstairs.
"Where are you all going?" She asked not knowing what is happening.
"To see gudiya!" Reyan, Abhiraj, Ayaan replied already ahead of others on the stairs. Ladies gasped at them facepalming while Ruhanika immediately moved to stop them.
"NO!!" That made them stop on their track.
"Bhaisa, get here now. All of you come here right now!" She said loudly but they still stood at thier place.
She made a crying face saying,
"Please don't go. She slept after so much difficulty. You all will wake her up. Please na. Dadisa say something na." She whined already frustrated from convincing Abheer and now again dealing with all men.
"All of you come here right now. Adhiraj ji, you heard me right." Gayatri Devi came to the rescue of Ruhanika.
"But..." Abhiraj was cut off by glaring of all the ladies, which made all the men gulp and get off of stairs.
"No one will go in her room." Abheer's voice boom making the trio (Abhiraj, Ayaan and Reyan) come downstairs quickly.
"Why you all people start behaving like a child all of a sudden?" Meera scolded them.
"Aur nahi toh? Bacchi ki baat toh pehle sun lo." Gayatri said.
(Listen to her first.)
"Yes. I was just saying she has a mild fever. So I came to take a bowl to do her cold strips. She is sleeping now, and don't need to worry, I'll be staying with her in the room." She explained.
"It's not too much na?" Aditi asked.
Ruhanika smiled replying,
"It will get down, don't worry! You all can check on her afterwards. Please now focus on the guests, they must be coming."
"Okay then. I will send your lunch upstairs. Don't skip it." Niharika said making her nod.
A guard entered informing about the arrival of Agnihotri's.
"Hukum sa, Agnihotri's have come." Abheer nodded dismissing him.
"Ruhi beta. Go after greeting them at least." Meera said making her nod.
