"A very warm welcome to this engagement ceremony of our hukum sa and to be ranisa!" Aishu said in a mike gaining attention of people and soon the hall was errupted with lots of claps.
"This would be one of the most awaiting ceremony of this century, I guess. Kyu ki aap logo ki hi tarah, bhaisa ne hum Rathoro ko humari ghar ki nayi beti, aur Rajasthan ki nayi Ranisa se milne keliye betab kar rakha tha!" Ayaan continued making a wave of laughter spread through the room.
(Because just like you all, Bhaisa made us Rathores desperate to meet the new daughter of our family, and the new queen of Rajasthan.)
Rajputs smiled with the way Ayaan mentioned Ruhanika as their daughter and not daughter-in-law.
"But now the wait is finally over! So without wasting any more time, let's welcome the groom and bride with a big round of applause!" Aishu said excitedly and all the eyes turned towards the big closed door.
The crowd went silent when the doors opened.

And gorgeous to be Ranisa!
He entered with his as usual stoic face while Ruhanika had a gentle smile.
The guests gasped looking at the gorgeous couple! But soon a frown covered their faces when they saw Abheer holding a little dozing baby, whose face was still yet to reveal. Coz our little princess was almost asleep keeping her face in crook of her babasa's neck.
The frown was immediately replaced with a smile when Ruhanika smiled at her both sides with joined hands greeting the people. Abheer followed her suit and nodded at his both sides making people bow their neck at him in respect.
They both climbed the stage as Ayaan said,
"You all know about hukum Abheer Singh Rathore. Let me introduce you to the Ranisa hukum. My soon to be bhabhima belongs to a famous business family and is daughter of Nikhil and Nitya Singh Rajput. She is none other than Ruhanika Singh Rajput." Ruhanika's heart ached a little when she was not introduced by name of Thakur, but she shrugged her feelings thinking it was for the best.
All of the room fell silent when Adhiraj climbed up the stage with the help of Aditi and Abhiraj. His dominating aura demanding attention and respect! He took the mike from Ayaan.
"I know you all must be curious about this baby in Abheer hukum's arms. So here I am to kill the suspense." As he spoke, all the attention of the room turned towards him making the room dead silent.
"She is Abhaya Singh Rathore, daughter of hukum sa and Ranisa hukum of Rajasthan, firstborn in the next generation of Rathores!" A gasp left everyone's mouth hearing Adhiraj.
One of the curious aunties in the crowd could not keep her from asking,
"Does that mean she is born before hukum's marriage, bade hukum? Doesn't that make her an illegitimate child? How can she be princess of Rajasthan then?" She asked gasping making the people around her agree to it.
While all the time quiet Abheer spoke with a little anger in his voice not being able to hear such cruel words about his princess,
"How can she be an illegitimate child when her father is here announcing her existence to the world, Mrs.Maheshwari?" His voice came loud cold and dark that made the people shiver in fear.
"Just because she was born before her parents' marriage, she can't be denied to her birth right! And I guess no one should have any say in this, right Mrs.Maheshwari?" He said first sentence looking at others with a dark gaze, and then last part at the lady who just nodded in terror.
"I'm sorry on her behalf, hukum sa. She has really got a big mouth." Her husband who just came by her side apologised. The lady looked at him with wide eyes, while people around her snickered at his comment making her embarrassed. She quickly apologized before moving away from the place.
"How can hukum sa have a child before his marriage? You are a idol for youth in our society. Don't you think it will create bad impact on the young generation, hukum sa?" Another lady asked.
"Well can you please elaborate how can having child before marriage impact youth badly!" His statement left the lady tongue tied.
"The birth of a child should solely be responsibility of it's parents. If they are ready to nurture it, love it, and willing to take it's responsibility, it shouldn't matter when he or she is born, before or after marriage of the parents! We both are ready to do that so we had our child, before marriage ! " Abheer spoke firmly that made people think over it.
"I'm getting what you are trying to say Mrs. Karwa. But there are still many married couple out there in society who aren't ready to do that. And if by any chance such couple is blessed with a child, they name him as unwanted child or a mistake! Ultimately the child suffers coz of such irresponsible mentality of people. So, what do you think Mrs. Karwa, who are better, we parents who love our child even though she was born before our marriage or those sick people who feel their child as a burden even though that is a phase of a married life?!" He asked a little gently this time to the lady. Abheer's question stung really hard to people. His so broad perspective was really beyond their small thinking! Maybe that's why he is their hukum sa!
Abheer looked towards others and spoke again,
"This child here in my arms, is the princess of Rajasthan and rightful heir! No one can question her right! Her mother and she are world to me! Both will get same respect just the way you all give me if not more! One thought about hurting them or my family, and I will make sure you would regret taking this birth!" He said the last part with a maniac smirk making the people back away from place trembling at his look.
Ruhanika was in tears being emotional with the way Abheer defended Abhaya, without letting raise any finger on her own character. She was feeling blessed to have a man like Abheer in her life!
Rathores smiled at the way Abheer handled the situation. They knew something would this like definitely happen. But they were also confident that with Abheer, it would be just a piece of cake. Rajputs too except Karan were shocked a little seeing Abheer's this form. But they couldn't be more glad for choosing him seeing his love for their daughter.
A little voice made his boiling blood cool instantly. He patted the back of Abhaya as he felt her sleep broke. She opened her eyes rubbing them but Abheer held her hands so that she won't hurt her eyes. She blinked sometimes before opening her eyes and immediately a full blown smile covered her face. She grabbed his face with her tiny palms and made baby noise making him smile. Guests were looking at this bipolar form of Abheer who was literally looking like about to murder someone sometime ago, and now smiling at the baby in front of him. And there they knew of what importance the child holds in Abheer's life!
"We should proceed with the ceremony hukum." Kul Purohit ji stated grabbing everyone's attention. Abheer nodded and came towards Ruhanika. He saw her wiping her eyes turning away making him frown. She immediately smiled at him when saw him coming her.
"What happened?" He asked gently wiping the tear that left her eye.
"I love you Abheer ji." Her sentence made him chuckle knowing that she must have got emotional.
"I love you more jaan. Just you." He replied kissing her forehead making her sigh in content.
They proceeded to sit down on their places as Purohit ji started with the puja. The earlier tensed atmosphere faded away with the loud chantings of mantra making the place filled with positive and holy wibes.
Soon it was time for ring exchnage! Abheer and Ruhanika stood by each other's sides. Aditi, Aishu and Sakshi, Arohi were by Abheer's and Ruhanika's side respectively. First Ruhanika took the ring from Sakshi and held Abheer's hand. She felt so overwhelmed and happy at that time that her hands were literally shivering, eyes were filling with tears yet a beautiful smile adorned her face! She slided the ring in his ring finger making the hall erupt with loud cheers and claps.
Abheer smiled and held her hands in his easily calming her nerves. Then Aditi passed ring to Abheer. He held her hand and gently slided the ring in her ring finger and kissed on it making his friends and brothers hoot as the room was in literal awe along with shock seeing this new form of their hukum sa.
"Karan bring Abhaya here." Abheer stated grabbing everyone's attention. Karan brought Abhaya to stage and Abheer told him to pass her to Ruhanika. Ruhanika held Abhaya confused.
Aishu smiled and passed a small box to Abheer.
"Just the way maasa is getting a ring today, my chhoti Ruhi should also get one, right my princess?" Abheer asked gently making Abhaya giggle as if understanding he is talking to her. He took out a small ring having the same stone as his and Ruhanika's slided it index finger of Abhaya.
Baby Abhaya looked at the jewellery in awe and clapped her hands liking it. The room erupted in chuckles at the baby's excitement. Their respect towards their hukum increasing more and more!
Abheer and Ruhanika got off the stage meeting people in person, rather than preferring them coming to stage for photos. First people thought that their Ranisa is going to be a really spoiled person being daughter of one of the richest families of Rajasthan. Yet, they were really amused and grateful seeing her polite and respectful nature. She is really meant to be their queen, they thought!
Soon startes started serving and people took their designated seats.
Adhiraj being the eldest raised from his seat for toast. He clincked his glass gaining everyone's attention.
"First of all, thank you everyone for coming to our children's engagement and blessing them." Adhiraj said joining his hands making people clap.
"This is really special day for me and Gayatri ji. We both will be the first in generations of our family who got see their grandchildren getting married let alone even seeing our great grandchild! My babasa was not even alive to see his grandchildren! I am really blessed that I got to see this day.
Coming to groom and bride! Abheer and Ruhi beta, I wish you both a very happy married life, a bright future and more of these cute kids!" Adhiraj said taking Abhaya from Vikram's lap who looked at so many people with her adorable doe eyes and shyed away seeing them looking at her. Guest chuckled at this cute baby!
"Apna vaivahik jeevan mein jaise pyar hai waise hi nok jhok bhi rakhna, jisse pyaar aur badhega, bilkul humare aur Gayatri ji ki tarah!" He commented looking lovingly at his wife who blushed hearing him. A wave laughter spreaded through the room as people applauded.
(The way there will be love in your maried life, keep a little bit of banters too, which will make love grow more and more, just like me and Gayatri ji!)
Gayatri Devi stood coming to his side,
"Congratulations Abheer and Ruhi. Jaise aapke dadasa ne kaha, hum bhi kahenge ki pati-patni mein nok jhok honi chahiye. Pyaar badhata hai." She chuckled.
(Just like your dadasa advised, I will say the same that husband-wife should fight. Love grows more.)
"With all that, one more important thing is care towards each other. Never stop caring for others. Care is one of the important factor in one's love life. The day it ends, the relation ends. May Maa Kaali bless you both with happiness, togetherness and lots of joy. Sada khush raho." She said last part patting Abhaya's head who gave her a gummy smile. Abheer Ruhanika smiled at each other with their words.
Vikram stood up clinking his glass with Meera by his side.
"A very good evening everyone. Congratulations Abheer and Ruhi.
Well, Rathores usually raise men who know how to value women in their lives and Abheer is one of them! But still, I'm warning you Abheer, dare you hurt my daughter. And if by any chance, Abheer does something to make you cry Ruhi beta, just come to me. We both will take a good class of him. And I know we will have babasa in our team too." Vikram said teasing Abheer. Adhiraj raised his glass saying 'of course' making people burst into laughter.
"You will never get enough of teasing my Abheer, right?" Meera chuckled.
"But I know, my Abheer will not do any such thing to hurt our Ruhi. They always complement each other, though having many similarities. Adding to what maa said, a relationship is always built on trust. A relation having misunderstanding, mistrust always ends up in a bad situation. Always trust each other, communicate and try to solve things without getting them to harm your relation. There will be times when you both will find each other at cross roads, and you will find it difficult what to do next. I'm not saying staying together will solve all your problems, but with each other's support, you will find it easier to move forward. May you both and all my children stay happy and healthy. God bless you." Guests smiled at the pure affection of Meera.
After them Nikhil and Nitya stood up,
"Congratulations laado and Jawaisa. My daughter has been always precious possession of mine and most close to my heart among all my children. I have always loved her no matter what." He said looking Ruhanika with slight moist eyes, whose own eyes were teary.
"But I'm glad she got someone, who loves her more than me, just the way I wanted. Plus, I'm more than relieved that she got family like yours." He said looking at Rathores who smiled at him.
"Please take care of my this piece of my heart which I'm giving to you." He said with joined hands. Abheer nodded with a smile,
"Of course babasa. Ruhi has my whole heart! Can't risk loosing it." All the youngsters hooted at Abheer's comment making Ruhanika blush wiping her tears.
"Congratulations Jawaisa and my dear laado. I can't even explain how happy I am today for you both! Yet a little sad that my baby has grown up so much that soon she will start her own life now." Nitya said with a little teary eyes making Ruhanika sniff too. Abheer rubbed her back of palm under the table providing her the much needed support.
"Anyways, will keep this crying for vidai." Nitya joked wiping her tears making people chuckle.
"I will just say that the successful relation is the one where both take efforts to keep it alive and going. Else you both are wise. Just Jawaisa, Meera and kakisa, if my laado ever makes any mistakes, please forgive her thinking her of your own child." Nitya said looking at Meera and Gayatri Devi who smiled in return.
"You don't have to worry about that. I have already told you she is going to be daughter of our house and not daughter-in-law. We will forgive her just the way we do with Adu and Aishu." Meera said making her smile.
"Plus, she is really a good child to deal with than our own." Niharika commented making the younger clan whine.
Now it was time of Vikrant and Niharika who was literally grinning widely waiting for her turn.
"Congratulations Abheer and Ruhi beta. May Maa Kaali bless you both with lots and lots happiness and prosperity. I love all my sons, but they are still pain in my ass, always stealing my wife from me." Niharika's eyes widen at his blunt comment and a soft blush coated her cheeks. The younger men in the family so wanted to roll their eyes but did not.
"But the love I have for my daughters cannot be compared to that. So I'm more than happy to have another daughter and my lovely granddaughter! Ruhi beta, welcome to the family." He said fondly looking at Ruhanika who grinned cutely. People clapped loudly at his cute speech.
"Now my turn." Niharika said to which people laughed at her eagerness.
"First of all a heartiest congratulations to my first child and his to be wife." She started making people a little confuse while Abheer shook his head at her comment.
"You all must be confused why I referred Abheer as my first child when he is my nephew. But it's true. Abheer has always been my first child, doesn't matter I didn't birth him. The day Abheer was born, all motherly love inside me which I didn't knew existed came out. I became mother along with Meera jiji too." Niharika said with a little teary eyes and wide smile. Meera nodded at her statement agreeing to her.
"Coz of him only I had the baby fever, and wanted to have a child myself." She giggled saying to which all smile.
"I love and admire him so much that's why I guess my Abhi looks up to him as his idol. So it's really overwhelming for me to see him getting married. Ruhanika is no less than my all children. May Maa Kaali give you both all the things you deserve. Sada khush raho." She said sniffing and wiping her eyes. Abheer was surprised to see his sassy kakisa being all emotional like his mother. He got up and hugged her kissing her forehead. Meera wiped her own tears before joining others in clapping.
Then younger clan stood up and,
"Well, we are not here to advise like our parents did, nor that we are capable enough to advise our bhaisa." Ayaan's statement earned chuckles from all.
"As maasa said, I have always admired and look up to bhaisa and still do. He has always been a shield protecting his siblings." Abhiraj said.
"Manier times I used to get myself in trouble, but all the time I have found him beside me to get me out of it." Ayaan chuckled making Abheer smile.
"Bhaisa has been like another father figure to me and Aishu. I don't even remember from when, but I used to go to him all the time if I needed something or for my demands, like he has the world and will fulfill all my demands." Adu said with a smile.
"We all siblings used to get same pocket money. But I don't know why, we greedy people were always excited about our share in bhaisa's pocket money too. Maybe coz we know he was anyway going to give it to us." Aishu giggled.
"There is only one thing we dislike about bhaisa." Ayaan said making everyone curious.
"That he is always partial to me and Abhi bhai in case of Aishu and Adu." He huffed making everyone smile.
"Everytime we fight, these both will call for him and then we will have to give up and when I say everytime, it's everytime! They both still use this bhaisa card against us." Ayaan said playfully narrowing his eyes to both of them.
"Coz of his so giving personality, he is the best hukum Rajasthan could ever ask for. Since the time I started understanding things, I have only seen him giving up on his things for others. His whole life was dedicated to others. Now I pray that with bhabhima, he will start enjoying his life." Abhiraj said with a little heavy voice and eyes welling up. The Rathore ladies' eyes well up hearing him. They know how much Abheer had done for others, that he forgot to live his own childhood and at this stage of life responsibilities will never end. They just hope the Abheer they saw with Ruhanika will always remain with them, unlike the previous Abheer!
Ruhanika's own eyes teared up remembering that he tasted the panipuri first time with her.(😅)
"Bhaisa we might not tell you so frequently, but we love you so much. Not just because all the things you do for us, but because always being there with us. Your mere presence gives us so much strength that you can't even know." Adu said with a soft sob.
"You always know what we wanted, what we are going through. Our life has been so much easier with you. Thank you for everything you did for us. I pray to god you get all the happiness in the world. I love you." Aishu said with a teary smile.
"Bhabhima I know it was all about bhaisa. But we love you the same. You are the bestest thing happen to bhaisa." Ayaan said wiping his eyes making Ruhanika chuckle in tears.
"May Maa Kaali keep you always happy and healthy. We wish you both a very happy married life." All clapped as they completed.
Abheer stood up and hugged all his siblings one by one. They all muttered I love you's to him which he reciprocated as well. They came and hugged Ruhanika too before taking their seats.
It was Reyan's turn now,
"Let's cheer up for my buddy and sister first." He said excitedly making everyone clap and hoot. Abheer shook his head at his dramatic self.
"Congratulations to the most dearest persons in my life! Abheer has been my anchor from the very start. I don't know what I would have been now if Abheer was not in my life. He unknowingly provided me the thing which I needed from very start, love and care! I don't know about others, but I'm really blessed to have Abheer in my life. Just like Aishu said, Abheer, thank you for being there! With you and of course all Rathores, my life has been beautiful, wonderful and peaceful." Reyan said with a small smile. Meera and Niharika teared up hearing him.
"Coming to Ruhanika, my dearest sister I never had before, you are also like miracle in my life. You and my dear bhanji are really close to my heart. I always want you by my side when I want annoy Abheer to death. You have to do that for your brother, I'm telling you." His statement earned chuckles from everyone.
"May Maa Kaali bless you with lots of health and wealth." He completed making people clap.
Karan got up along with Arohi,
"A heartiest congratulations my dear Ruha and Abheer. Ruha was always the naughtiest in the family yet respectful, caring and loving. Seeing her all set to manage her own family now is really overwhelming. But I am glad it is Abheer. Seeing him loving and caring for his parents, siblings, his people to such extent, I can just be satisfied knowing that Ruhanika will be world's safest and loved human. What more a brother can ask for his sister?
But still know that Ruha, you will always find your this brother beside you. You were, are and will always be daughter of this family and will always find your room intact whenever you come here. May god bless you both with lots of happiness." Karan completed making people clap.
"First of all congratulations Ruha and Abheer sa." It was Arohi's turn.
"When I first came in Rajput family after my marriage, everyone took great efforts to make me comfortable in home. But I would say Ruha was the one who was first successful in doing that. She took really great care of me. You were my comfort zone and still are. I never got to thank you. So I thought to do it today. Thank you so much for everything.
I can only say she is sweetest soul I've ever met. I wish you all the happiness in the world and request Abheer sa to never let this gorgeous smile on your face fade away. God bless you both." Arohi completed and Hridhaan too clapped seeing others doing the same.
As the toast completed, Ruhanika got up from her seat and hugged everyone for their so much comforting as well as beautiful thoughts.
She is really blessed to have these pure-hearted people in her life!
Others emerged themselves in dinner as food started serving. The atmosphere was really happy and blooming.
Suddenly some more people entered grabbing people's attention. They started murmuring seeing the men in black. Yep, you all are correct. They are Romanos!
Abheer stood up from his place along with Vikram, Reyan and Karan.
"Welcome Mr.Romano. We are glad you came." Abheer said shaking Alessandro's hand.
"Thank you. We are honoured to be invited here. Congratulations on your engagement." Alessandro said. He came with his 2 brothers, Ezekiel and Gabriel. The others too shook hands with each other.
"Something urgent came up. That's why dad didn't come. He sent his best wishes though." Alessandro signled his men to bring in the gifts.
"It's fine. But I hope to see him in wedding though." Vikram said to which Alessandro nodded.
Abheer introduced them to Reyan and Karan as last time even Reyan didn't get chance to meet them.
In between, Abheer's gaze fell on Ruhanika coming with Abhaya. She stood by Abheer gaining all of their attention. Alessandro's gaze fell on Abhaya and his eyes immediately soften. He looked at her with a longing gaze which didn't go unnoticed by others.
"Good evening." Ruhanika greeted Romanos making them nod.
"Congratulations on your engagement." Ezekiel congratulated her giving her a nice bouquet.
"Thank you so much. We didn't get to meet last time properly. Hope so you are enjoying." Jealousy flickered in Abheer's eyes seeing Ruhanika chatting with Alessandro's brothers.
They chatted sometime but Ruhanika observed that Alessandro was still looking at Abhaya.
"Would you like to hold your niece?" Surprise was the only emotion on his face hearing his niece from Ruhanika.
He just nodded not able utter anything. Ruhanika smiled before passing Abhaya to him. The cute baby looked at his face who himself was doing the same. She patted on his face babbling loudly making all of them smile. Alessandro smiled and kissed her forehead lovingly remembering his friend.
"Ruhi come here for a minute please." Sakshi called for her. Ruhanika excused herself, leaving Abhaya with them.
Others left after sometime, leaving Abheer and Alessandro alone. Abhaya was now with Abheer.
They were talking when suddenly she puked a little bit on Abheer's clothes. Puking is the only thing she hated the most. She looked at Abheer with teary eyes and wobbly lips on the verge of breakdown.
"No princess. Nothing happened. Don't cry. You are all okay, hmm. Don't cry." Abheer said gently, first wiping her mouth and her clothes. He patted her back comforting her, making her rest her head on his neck ready to doze off.
"I'm glad you are going to be Abhaya's father. Maybe Abhay would have been the same if he was here." Alessandro said passing him some tissues to wipe his own clothes.
"Destiny never let both of us meet. But I believe that it was because of him, that I met Ruhanika and then got this little angel. I will be forever indebted to him for giving me his precious possessions!" Abheer said patting Abhaya's back softly who dozed off on his chest making Alessandro smile.
Engagement is complete!🤩
One function down 4 more functions to go for Abheer and Ruhanika to be bound with each other for agale 7 janam! I kept all the speeches in here coz of course, shaadi ke din toh yeh sab bolne ka time hi nahi rehta. Dulha dulhan logo ke saath photo nikalte nikalte hi itne thak jate hai ki, ghar jaane ke baad suhagrat keliye bhi engery nahi rehti!🤭😁
And for those dirty minders who think that author has so much experience, then let me clear it, I dont! I'm as much virgin as when I was born!😌😇
Comment which one's toast you like the most. And don't worry they were not drinking any alcohol. Both families strictly follow their navratri vrat. That's why there were no alcoholic beverages nor any kind on non veg food.
I don't even know why I'm explaining this! 🙄 But then I thought you guys might have missed my ranting in the last chp!
